Equipping the Next Generation

By investing in the next generation, the program helps develop future breeders, strengthen the breed and support the long-term growth of the Hereford industry.

Each year, select National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) or young American Hereford Association (AHA) members will be awarded a pregnant recipient female carrying elite Hereford genetics, along with two embryos of the same genetics. These genetics will be sourced from top donor females and matings provided by industry-leading breeders and partners.

This opportunity will provide young cattlemen and women with foundation genetics to begin or grow their Hereford herd, while also encouraging long-term engagement in the breed.

Application Requirements

• Applicant must be 18-25 years of age at the time of the deadline.
• Applicant must be a NJHA or AHA member in good standing.
• Applicant must outline that they have access to resources and facilities to maintain this female. 
• Applicant may only be selected to receive a pregnant recipient female once. 
• Applicant must demonstrate a strong interest in developing a Hereford breeding program. 
• Up to five pregnant recips accompanied by two embryos will be awarded in this first pilot program year.
