The second Harvest Gala was an evening to remember at Kansas City’s historic Union Station. A beautiful fall evening welcomed a capacity crowd of 330 Hereford enthusiasts to the record setting event. A foundation female package donated by Langford Herefords highlighted the auction offering and when the final gavel fell a total of $50,000 was raised to support Hereford youth.
HYFA President, Bob Call and his wife Dolores, announced that they will be starting a scholarship fund and donated $25,000 to start the endowment. The rebirth of the youth foundation set in place a new found spirit among Hereford breeders. This spirit will allow all Hereford enthusiasts to take an active role in helping HYFA reach its pinnacle of excellence.
Lauren Echols, Breckenridge, Texas, and Erika Ostgaard, Dayton, Ohio, receive the first two Gary Bishop Memorial scholarships for a total of $1,500.
