Amy Cowan has worked in various capacities for the American Hereford Association (AHA) for 23 years and since 2008 has served as the executive director of the Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA) and youth activities for the association. In this role, Cowan manages the day-to-day operations, growing the foundation’s pillars of scholarship, leadership and education as her focus. She serves as the secretary and treasurer for the HYFA Board of Directors and enjoys organizing fundraising campaigns and events, fostering relationships with current and potential donors and corporate sponsors.
As director of youth activities, Amy oversees the 4,000 member National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA). She mentors youth, organizes educational and leadership events including the Junior National Hereford Expo and Faces of Leadership Conference along with advising the NJHA Board of Directors.
Bailey Clanton has worked at the American Hereford Association (AHA) for nearly 10 years, after finishing her internship under Amy Cowan she accepted the National Shows Coordinator and Youth Activities Assistant position for the association.
In this role, she assists with HYFA fundraising efforts, donor relations and event planning. She also works with UMB Bank to handle the day-to-day accounting. She oversees the six national shows for the AHA as well as representing the association at many state and regional shows across the nation. She also works with and oversees the National Junior Hereford Association 12-member junior board of directors and all of their duties.
Chloé Durian is the newest member of the American Hereford Association youth activities department, starting at the beginning of 2021. Within her role as the Associate Director of Youth Marketing & Education she is charged with the management of communications and marketing for both the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) and HYFA as well as assisting with overseeing and supporting the 12-member NJHA Board of Directors.
Working alongside the youth activities department she focuses on the marketing of both entities as well as the educational components of the NJHA that are supported through HYFA, ranging from educational contests at the Junior National Hereford Expo, the Fed Steer Shootout program, the Faces of Leadership conference and the administration of scholarships through the foundation.
